...was initially for pieces done on a computer, but has since become a free-for-all. Here you'll find process work (digital and otherwise), sketch pages and studies, sometimes with commentary.

You can see the rest of my work here.

Remember kids : if you can't make pretty designs, at least make pretty lines!

Comicon Challenge 2010

Yaaaay, I get to be a 2D judge this year! Thanks, Game Artisans!

Look, my dumb face is displayed on this page!

View entries here.

Posts will be few and far between these next three weeks, unless I can get near a scanner during my vacation.

Gloat Post - Mr. Jack

Holy shit. I was just notified I was included on Mr. Jack's Influence Map. For those of you who are unfamiliar with his stuff, it's awesome. Check it out here.

Mr. Jack, if you're reading this, you're too kind! And hey, if you ever want to throw down for Babe Lab, I'll even take your napkin scribbles. Seriously.

Babe Lab Update - Palner

Props to Palner for hooking up a process piece for Babe Lab. Very nice of him!

Everyone else I've asked, and even those of you who I haven't, just keep it in mind...always trollin' for content!

Russian Visa

More mugshots! Today was a an epic milestone. I've plans to visit colleagues in Moscow this coming month, and to have my visa approved was a huuuuuuge relief. Means I'm not a criminal, I guess.

Anyhow, I'm super stoked about this. So stoked, in fact, I had to wear my Andrew Bawidamann cosmonaut shirt.  There's formidable talent over there.  Can't wait to rub elbows with 'em and siphon their power.

sketch night / lifedrawing log - 08.16.10

'Nother standard sketch page and some waaaay iffy lifedrawing from earlier in the week.  Was really not on my game.  All my roughs wound up being much stronger than the ones I did larger.  She needed to look like she was really slouched into that chair, and for whatever reason I just didn't nail it.  Ah well.  That's why I log this stuff.

Oh, a few of us were trying to draw Mumra from memory. My first two attempts were completely off the mark. Don't remember much from Thundercats.

The measure of a good sketch night...

...for me at least, is when my actual output pales in comparison to the quality of the company. Since I did another page of 3/4 heads and cropped-out bodies (basically retreading old habits), it must mean the conversation was awesome...which it was. I'm very thankful to belong to such a group.

Even so, I look in awe at that Drink & Draw Social Club Vol. 2 book and think, "Okay, these guys were probably also having a great time, and yet were able to do work of substance...and they had alcohol in their systems."  Amazing.

Aleksa Diamond

I'm really slummin' it lately with all the pr0n, but here's a head study of this Hungarian girl.

I totally cheesed out with the blasted saturation. Light tricks and gels are what amateurs who can't paint in true color resort to. I have no shame!

lifedrawing log - 08.09.10

This Monday, everything involving drawing felt like an uphill battle. It's weird when the thing that's most fun for you is also the most infuriating. In spite of some cheery images, I brought darkness today.

Ballpoint Pen-demonium

The Bic Ultra Round Stic Grip seems juicy enough for my needs. The doodles that appear more blueish here were produced by a dryer brand. No likey. I want to see that shit blot out on the page and make a gooey black mess.

Oh, and here's some creepy Mormons I did studies of (from a random image search), then tried to reproduce from memory. I'd be lousy at doing comics; I can't do any consistent likenesses.

Babe Lab Update - Boob Physics 101

Somehow, I knew it would come to this.  This one was especially fun, for obvious reasons.

"Blasphemous" - sketches

Porn post! Here are two characters I'm developing. Their designs are intentionally simple because I plan to be drawing them a lot, possibly in comic form. Not sure yet.

The basic gist is that they're a wildly successful/controversial heaven-meets-hell erotic club act. They both got sick of their own kind and now tour limbo as "Blasphemous," which I'm loosely basing on 90s porn industry analogues "Scandalous" (Adara Michaels + Amanda) and "Blondage" (Janine + Julia Ann). I'm always amazed/disappointed that this kind of two-girl stage show concept doesn't continue to reincarnate itself. Perhaps that kind of chemistry is hard to come by.

These girls, despite their polar-opposite backgrounds, are perfect for each other. And, going back to an earlier drawing I did, they can open crotch-portals (halo for angel, pentagram for demon) to summon various...er...equipment. Lump that in with levitation and an eternal well of energy, and you've got a pretty wicked dance routine. I'd book them.

More filth to follow...

lifedrawing log - 08.02.10

Included for no reason : a bootylicious stencil/sticker I saw downtown yesterday.
