Actually I know exactly what you mean. I have found that this usually happens because I am becoming more aware of certain weaknesses and therefore know what to more effectively correct, if that makes any sense.
Loving some of the plane changes / color choices on that second color sketch, btw. (Of course your linework is beautiful, as always :P)
