Painting Practice - 11.21.12

...found a brush I like better for modeling.



My friend Christian Lichtner gave me a warning that earlier attempts were lacking in mid-tone (which is key in showing local color identity), so I tried to aim for the gradient arrangement on the right.  Solid feedback.

I'm actually looking for a good alternative for the hard round brush myself, for basic blocking and rendering, because I don't really like how the strokes look (making it difficult to take advantage of the brushwork for me). Got any advice?
