lifedrawing log - 07.19.10

2 hour pose, and I had to leave early. After missing the last couple weeks it felt good to return, even if it took me 3 false starts to get something even remotely resembling what was going on here. And now, looking at it, I see I should have taken a more dramatic viewpoint. So frontal, especially that left arm, bleugh! Earlier versions were slightly better rendered, but I realized the drawings underneath weren't even deserving of such treatment.

The young lady next to me was doing a much better job of sinking the model's head into that pillow, and even took the liberty of turning the face down into it slightly to avoid the frontal-ness. Smart thinking!

I should have tried wonking it, more like this...

Some sweaty mouthbreather in the front row took a cell phone call and chit-chatted like there wasn't a naked girl in front of him, or a whole room of busy artists behind him. So tacky. So impolite. I'm sorry, but if you get a call at a function like this, take it outside.

This looks amazing as usual. Nice work with all the turning volumes in space!
