2010 has been a year of dizzying highs and crushing lows. Change on nearly every front. Part of this change, I'm happy to say, is that I'll soon be an official employee of Blizzard Entertainment!
Polycount beat me to the news some weeks back, but I wanted to wait until I actually arrived in Irvine, CA safely to call it a done deal. Everyone's been crazy-nice, and even though I don't actually start until the 29th, I've already attended a sketch night there. I'll be working on their big, secret MM0, no doubt behind some padlocked door guarded by a snarling, Cerberus-lookin' hellhound. (FACT : They can routinely be seen sniffing the perimeter.)
Thanks and respect to all my friends at Vigil Games for some great times, and to my art pals from Sketch Night and the various Austin lifedrawing functions. Carry on, carry on!
P.S. -- If anyone can point me to a good comic book shop around here, I'm all ears.
This blog...
...was initially for pieces done on a computer, but has since become a free-for-all. Here you'll find process work (digital and otherwise), sketch pages and studies, sometimes with commentary.
You can see the rest of my work here.
Remember kids : if you can't make pretty designs, at least make pretty lines!

Wow how awesome and exciting! Christ, between you, Mr--Jack, and Samwise, Blizz really can't go wrong with art direction.
Guess this means you won't be contributing as much [as I'd like] to Darksiders 2? My world will end if there isn't a Darksiders 2. End.
Congratulations!
Watch out. There is orc behind you!

Congratulations, Blizzard is lucky to have you! I don't know about comic book shops, but I can tell you there's a good little (as far as I remember) figure drawing group in San Clemente http://www.scartsupply.com/ I'm sure there are plenty more. At the very least, it is worth the drive down there :)
The next gen mmo team is so over powered, and now YOU are on it? I can't wait to see it unveiled. I would love to attend a 'sketch night' since I'm super local. Any details? Good luck at Blizz man!
